Altitude Control Systems and Propulsion Engineer
KBR is seeking an Attitude Controls Systems and Propulsion Engineer to support an exciting opportunity within the Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Directorate.
The candidate will provide satellite systems technical engineering and programmatic support to all lifecycle phases for a new start program.
The successful candidate will possess technical expertise in and have experience with spacecraft Attitude Control Systems (ACS) and propulsion subsystems.
The candidate will be an integral participant in ACS and propulsion subsystem architecture, requirements development and verification, and unit designs.
Responsibilities :
Review and coordinate changes to specifications, ICDs, and system level requirements documentation for ACS and propulsion subsystems
Track development issues and attends unit, subsystem, system level design reviews
Reviews developer’s readiness to proceed into spacecraft test at various levels of assembly
Support launch and spacecraft on-orbit test as required
Identify and assess emerging risks and develops & evaluates proposed burn-down plans
Working knowledge with the design & integration of satellite buses and knowledgeable of launch & flight operations of space vehicles
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Astronautical, or Mechanical Engineering required
Education and experience with spacecraft ACS hardware and software design, manufacture, simulation, and test
Experience with spacecraft propulsion subsystem development, simulation and test
Strong attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with personnel from multiple functions and at all levels of the customer organization to deliver results;
strong networking, interpersonal, customer service skills, team building and problem-solving skills with an ability to be effective in a government / contractor team environment
Excellent Organizational skills; ability to plan, track and maintain due dates for multiple taskers and products central to customer acquisition processes
Previous experience with DoD and IC and as a SETA is desired
Clearance : TS / SCI with CI Poly is required
Travel : up to 20% per year may be required
Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40
BasicCompensation :
143,060.00 - $214,590.00 USD Annual
This range is for the California area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and / or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation :
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
