The Endoscopy Technologist Lead has the crucial role of supporting the Endoscopy Lab through enhancement of the onboarding experience, team member engagement and clinic expertise of our endoscopy technicians.

Under the guidance of the director, ensures unit compliance by supporting quality, safety, regulatory and Joint Commission standards along with identifying and assisting in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

Location - Inova Fairfax Hospital

Shift - Day

Schedule - Monday through Friday, will consist of Four shifts with each shift being Ten Hours

Job Responsivities

• Participates in the recruitment / hiring process of new staff; Coordinates orientation of new team members and continuing education of current staff.
• Identifies and directs in-services and education to enhance team member clinical expertise. Including, but not limited to in-services related to endoscopy equipment, supplies, procedures and process per Inova policies, SGNA best practice and equipment / supply IFUs.
• Assist in identifying and implementing quality and performance improvement projects / programs to enhance clinical outcomes and efficient operations.
• Coordinates with physicians for procedure needs along with supplies for case readiness.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary communication regarding case and service requirements. Chairs Service Team Meetings with staff.

Acts as a clinical leader and resource in Endoscopy Suite.

Mentors team. Understands, incorporates, and coaches team members on SGNA, TJC, and other professional and regulatory standards into clinical practice.

Utilizes and reinforces correct understanding of intraoperative outcomes. Creates, with supervisor, a self-development plan related to professional goals.

Assists team members in assigned functional area, which may include but not limited to, ensuring team is meeting performance and quality standards, identifying and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling;

escalates issues to senior leaders as needed.

• Encourages and supports multidisciplinary collaboration among team members.
• Works with SPD to assure proper scope cleaning, HLD and inventory is to standard. Assists in keeping team members current on scope HLD process and SPD check offs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3 years of experience as Endoscopy Technician.
• Prior experience to include precepting of new team members
• BLS from AHA Upon Start
• SGNA and Associates Advanced Associates Program Completion
