Sign Language Interpreter (21 Year old Female Student) in Mounds View, MN Area
Responsibilities :
- Accurately interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and school activities into American Sign Language (ASL).
- Assist students in understanding classroom materials and assignments.
- Interpret during meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to modify instructional materials for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
- Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct.
Qualifications :
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, NIC, or state certification).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience in educational settings is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
- Knowledge of deaf culture and the unique needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
