About the job

Turning Point Brands, Inc. manufacturer, marketer and distributor of branded consumer products is seeking an International Sales and New Business Channels Associate Director to develop, implement and execute new business and international market strategies.

This role is remote based with a strong preference near a major airport. Some travel will be required.

As an International Sales & New Business Channels, Associate Director, you will develop and execute strategies to penetrate new business channels and international markets by

Essential Functions

  • Identify untapped business channels and international markets for growth opportunities, aligning with the company's strategic goals.
  • Develop and execute plans to enter new sales channels, such as e-commerce, distribution partnerships, and retail collaborations.
  • Conduct thorough market research to assess market potential, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences in target regions.
  • Develop comprehensive sales strategies for new channels, outlining pricing, distribution, promotion, and product positioning in partnership with brand managers where relevant.
  • Administer Critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate and offer creative solutions in a variety of selling situations.
  • Purposefully plan and prioritize initiatives to achieve results with limited direction.
  • Ability to build financially astute and analytically driven sales plans that generate results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners, distributors, retailers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and supply chain to ensure seamless execution of strategies.
  • Monitor sales metrics and KPIs for new business channels, regularly evaluating progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Lead negotiation efforts for partnership agreements, distribution contracts, and sales terms with new partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in international sales, business development, or sales management within the consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding sales into new markets or channels.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Car travel and overnight stays required.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable of and acting in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in operations management, business development, or a related role within the consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Experience working in emerging markets and navigating cultural differences.
  • Prior experience with e-commerce platforms, digital marketing, and online sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages to facilitate international negotiations.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
