Salary : $82,000 to $103,000 per year, based on experience.

Terrific Events Manager position with a public policy nonprofit in California. The Events Manager is an integral member of the Communications team and will focus on managing all aspects of the organization's portfolio of approximately 40 virtual and in-person events annually, including panel discussions, research presentations, and conferences.

The Events Manager is a front-facing position that will interface with internal and external partners along with attendees that include elected officials at all levels of government.

The position will be a key thought partner to management and curate events related to current public policy issues and trends.

This position will manage and mentor one direct report. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Qualified candidates should have approximately 5+ years of experience conceptualizing and producing events. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

This position can be based in San Francisco, CA or Sacramento, CA and operates on a hybrid schedule. The salary range for this position is $82,000 to $103,000 per year, based on experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage a large portfolio of virtual and in-person events relating to public policy issues, including conferences, presentations, panels, and sponsored series
  • Ensure the successful design and execution of approximately 3 events per month
  • Develop ideas for new events and content, including identifying speakers that can provide a diverse and balanced perspective
  • Engage attendees, including elected officials
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of event planning
  • Create strategies and oversee logistics relating to the planning and execution of all events
  • Develop and monitor event and department budgets
  • Manage and mentor one direct report
  • Travel, as needed within California

Qualifications :

  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant events experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with strict timelines
  • Workfront and Salesforce experience a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Interest and / or experience in policy a plus
