ChristianaCare is recruiting for a Hospital Care at Home Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacy Operations Director and team in the coordination and supervision of Hospital Care at Home (HCAH) to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems and the medication-use process.
This position is a full-time (40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts) that primarily works 10 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM, however the work schedule will be dictated by fluctuations in workload or program requirements.
This position is Monday-Friday, but could as the program expands, be a rotating weekend position.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensure HCAH medications are filled, packaged, and ready for pick up at designated times
- Prepare IV medications
- Assist HCAH pharmacist and pharmacy leadership in the advancement of HCAH support implementation of ideas and goals set forth by Newark Campus Director Pharmacy Operations
- Collaborate with HCAH pharmacist to ensure required tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner that includes but not limited to narcotic reviews for appropriate documentation and completion of charge credit for discharged patients
- Train and facilitate training of new staff and re-educate existing staff in all pharmacy user groups
- Participate in the development and review / modification of polices and / or procedures
- Represent the department on inter-departmental and system level projects, initiatives, and committees, assigned by the Newark Campus Director Pharmacy Operations;
- participate in projects and on assigned committees to impart knowledge and provide expertise related to the pharmacy computer system and technology;
communicate the status of system projects, activities, and issues to pharmacy leadership when needed.
Travel to other office locations to meet department needs including HCAH Command Center.
Education and experience requirements :
- High School Diploma required
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required
- Computer experience preferred
Physical demands :
Standing and walking up to 8 miles a day with intermittent sitting. Occasional extended periods at computer terminal. Required movement throughout ChristianaCare.
Requires manual dexterity, the ability to push or pull a fully weighted cart of 250 lbs. which is no more than 15 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.
