We are looking for skilled Cooks to prepare delicious meals according to menu. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals.

They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Position Summary : Prepares high quality meals for the regular and modified resident service according to standardized recipes in the correct amounts as determined by daily production sheets.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Prepare and prep high-quality food according to standardized recipes in the correct amounts.
• Keep work area clean and sanitize work surfaces according to standardized procedures. Mop floors and take out trash.
• Follow production sheets demonstrating accuracy in weighing, measuring, and portioning of food.
• Take temperatures of hot foods prior to mealtimes and records on production sheets.
• Set up dinning room and steam table and clean at end of meal.
• Set up food in an attractive and efficient manner.
• Follow schedule for food caddies and beverage thawing.
• Open or close kitchen. Put food away, date items, label all leftovers as well as lock or unlock refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom.

Essential Skills & Experience :

• Ability to operate standardized cooking equipment and dishwashers.
• Understanding and working knowledge of proper techniques for food preparation, including modified diets.
• One to two years institutional food service experience.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.

Nonessential Responsibilities :

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, residents, residents families, and the public.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Nonessential Skills & Experience :

High school graduate or successful completion of GED.
