GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Blending Operator is responsible for efficiently Blending Supplement products while adhering to FDA and APS Bio Group guidelines.
The Blending Operator will also be responsible for using GDP (Good Documentation Practices) while completing entries such as verifying product weight, description and specifications into the MBR (Material Batch Record).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Clean and sanitize blender, sifter, sifter screen, and all contact surface parts for the blender.
- Verify all staged raw materials are correct as per the Material Batch Record (MBR)
- Inspect all parts and equipment for cleanliness and potential cross-contamination.
- Add raw materials into the blender and follow blending instructions as per the MBR.
- Clean debris and other discarded materials as you work
- Handle cleaning equipment in accordance with MSDS and safe handling procedures.
- Operates all equipment in a safe manner following GMP and plant safety guidelines.
- May be required to work off shift or weekend in order to meet customer / product deadlines
- Strictly adheres to all cGMP’s and SOP’s .
- Accurately record all cleaning data into cleaning log book.
- Follow All safety guidelines when performing tasks at hand.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience in food or drug manufacturing environment preferred
KNOWLEDGE
- Working Knowledge of the blending formulation process
- Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations and practices
- Working knowledge of GMP’s, CFR 111, food allergen handling and other food safety related practices including safe quality food requirements
SKILLS
- Strong work ethic, including the ability to report to work on time for scheduled shifts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A working understanding of food processing, clean in place, and material handling
- Be a team player willing to perform additional duties as required.
ABILITIES
- Ability to maintain a good attendance record is required.
- Demonstrated ability to interact in an effective manner with all levels of the organization
- Ability to lift, carry, and push / pull up to 50 lbs. regularly during the working shift.
- Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in both hot and cold environments.
- Must be able to read and comprehend product MBR (Material Batch Records)
- Ability to accurately record data and maintain a clean working environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires heavy lifting, standing, walking, and bending all day.
The employee must be able to lift and / or move items 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions such as heat and strong odor products. The noise level in the work environment can be loud while in the blending room.
