Job Details
- A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ICU RN for a travel assignment.
- The right candidate will have 2+ years of experience.
Job Requirements
- Hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred), and CA license.
- Experience with ICP monitoring and ventrics is required.
- Experience with trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and ventriculostomies is needed.
- Candidates MUST have experience with ICP monitoring and ventrics or experience with post-TPA pts.
- Must have 2-3 yrs in specialty, previous travel experience preferred.
Schedule Information
- 12 hr shifts, schedules made out about 6 weeks in advance.
- Every other weekend requirement.
- There is no holiday requirement at this time but may be required to work during holidays.
Unit Specific Information
- Ratios : 1 to 1-2, 90% of the time will be 1 to 2 ratio.
- Floating : any of the tele or medsurg units.
- Scrub Color : navy.
- Vents : yes - Hamilton model.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : hospitalist available 24 / 7.
- IV Team : no.
- RT available 24 / 7.
- Pharmacy available 24 / 7.
- Floor-specific orientation : 1 day on unit.
- Common diagnoses / Types of patients include trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, ventriculostomies.
- Candidates must know ahead of time they will work very hard on this unit.
- Must be able to get along well with others.
- Hospital has a very robust interventional radiology program, traveler friendly.
- Absolutely do not send over candidates who have 2 years or less experience and minimal travel experience UNLESS they have excellent past experiences at larger, fast-paced facilities.
