About The Position
Job Title : Sign Shop Laborer Job Specialty : Staff Augmentation Job Duration : Long-term or Temporary Shift : Day - 5x8 - 6am - 2pm Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours per week Experience : Minimum 3 months training or experience in sheet metal work and related equipment operation;
3 months training or experience in sign production and industrial safety practices License : N / A Certifications : N / A Must-Have : Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, ruler reading, and percentages Job Description : Perform all activities associated with the fabrication, production, and distribution of highway signs.
- Utilize computers for reclamation activities and reflective sheeting application.- Assemble and fabricate all extruded signs, including performing all silk screen activities and layout processes.
- Read blueprints and manage materials, including sorting, stacking, loading, unloading, lifting, and transporting sign blanks and other resources.
- Pack and distribute signs, ensuring completed signs and materials are stored correctly.- Operate forklifts and various equipment used in the sign production process, such as shear machines, punch presses, squeeze roll applicators, and both automatic and manual silkscreen equipment.
- Utilize appropriate safety equipment, including respirators, masks, and gloves, following established safety practices.
- Maintain quality control in all production processes.- Establish order and priority of sign orders and produce special projects like banners, decals, and signage for assigned agencies or organizations.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties such as maintaining inventory control and keeping the shop area clean and tidy.- Knowledge of industrial safety practices, including mathematics involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Skilled in the silk screen printing process and sheet metal work, with the ability to operate related equipment and solve practical problems.
