About The Position
Job Title : MRI Technologist Job Specialty : Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day - 4x10 - 7am - 5pm Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours per week Experience : One year of imaging experience strongly preferred License : Licensed Radiology Technologist in State of Employment Certifications : Registered Radiology Technologist- Registered Technologist, Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging - R.
T. (R) and / or (MR) (ARRT)- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) Must-Have : MRI experience- Patient Care skills- Compliance with safety standards Job Description : Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.- Follow practice guidelines and safety standards for MRI.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other technologists.- Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel and ensure current standards of practice.
- Perform MRI scans to obtain high-quality images.- Observe safety regulations to reduce exposure as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
- Produce quality images accurately and promptly.- Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instruction regarding procedures.
- Assist patients during exams and ensure proper positioning.- Communicate unusual occurrences and document patient conditions.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal equipment / resource use.- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.- Perform IV starts and contrast administration if required.- Complete required paperwork for each exam.
- Prepare room, equipment, and materials needed for exams.- Maintain equipment operation and notify service when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work area for staff and patients.- Conduct quality checks and equipment maintenance as per procedure.- Identify and communicate problems proactively.
- Establish constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and departments.- Maintain high skill level through ongoing education and share knowledge with staff.
- Participate in clinical training for students and / or staff technologists.- Engage in professional activities through organizations, journal clubs, and online education.
- Actively participate in department / hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.- Maintain compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.
- Contribute to accreditation as requested.- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload.- Adapt to changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing through flexibility.
