The Insights Senior Manager of Trade Industry Analysis role is a highly visible opportunity in our Trade Value Strategy team, responsible for delivering proactive insights to create opportunities, mitigate risk, and advance performance for both clients and the CVS enterprise.
As the prescription drug landscape changes with new therapies, an evolving policy landscape, and increasing pressure to reduce pharmaceutical costs, the right person for this role is a highly motivated, forward-thinker who can distill information and construct insights from disparate sources to determine potential impacts from market events.
You will use your ability to synthesize data and landscape analysis into actionable insights for Trade Value Strategy Leadership and the broader CVS organization.
You will influence business decisions by evaluating pharmaceutical landscape changes and delivering resulting implications to strategy.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with other functional areas to identify and address risks and opportunities to multiple CVS business segments and our external stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities will be to :
- Build effective matrix relationships, collaborating with other teams across the PBM and broader CVS enterprise to investigate opportunities or mitigate potential risks to the business and its clients
- Proactively communicate industry-related insights that will inform strategy development and annual planning
- Develop analyses and materials for executive-level audiences, including leading work with cross-functional partners to inform content and resolve data needs
- Determine and size potential implications to trade financial value, informing multi-year strategic planning
To be successful, you should possess :
- Familiarity with key pharmaceutical market access concepts and public policies such as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), 340B, AMP Cap removal, etc.
- Experience working in past-faced matrix environments requiring management of multiple priorities
- Experience developing analyses and presentations to explain business issues and / or recommend strategies
- Strong problem solving, analytical, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively engage with internal stakeholders of varying backgrounds, demonstrating deep technical or analytical understanding in a consumable way

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare, finance, or analytics; graduate-level education may substitute for experience
- 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, which may include PBMs, manufacturers, or related life sciences consulting
- Advanced capabilities using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in market access roles at a pharmaceutical manufacturer
- 5+ years experience with prescription drug rebates, formulary strategies, and / or pharmaceutical pricing strategy & market access
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical government pricing (AMP, Best Price, ASP, 340B)
- Knowledge of the evolving pharmaceutical regulatory environment
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, healthcare, business, or related field required; or equivalent experience
- MBA or Master’s Degree preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is :
$75,400.00 - $190,700.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
