InSite Property Group is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who will be responsible for accounting, reporting, cash management, and administration of self-storage properties.

Objective :
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain the company’s financial records and ensure that accounting records are in accordance with IFRS and GAAP and company policies.
Responsibilities :
- Review and post monthly journal entries
- Review and post tenant receipts and revenue transactions
- Review accounts payable invoices for proper coding
- Ensure that expenditures are appropriately expensed or capitalized in accordance with the company’s accounting policy
- Prepare journal entries for acquisitions and sale of properties
- Prepare journal entries for debt acquisitions and related monthly activities
- Prepare draw requests
- Prepare coding of general contractor invoices
- Review and reconcile trial balance
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly property financial statements and variance analytics
- Review daily cash positions
- Assist with external audit requests and preparation of the annual financial statements
Other Functions :
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience
- A four-year degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field is required
- 1-2 years of accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Yardi experience is highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiatives
- Detail-oriented
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities while staying focused and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Salary Range :
$63,000 - $72,000 per year
