OVERVIEW
Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Clinician (APC)
Memorial Hermann Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to join our team in The Greater Heights Area of Houston, Texas.
The APC will perform direct patient care under the supervision of the attending physicians, with clinical practice in emergency medicine.
The APC must also be able to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team. The APC will collaborate with the physicians in patient care or work under general supervision on case by case basis.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Position Key Responsibilities :
- History and physical examination
- Clinical information synthesis and medical decision making
- Performance and interpretation of diagnostic testing
- Performance of therapeutic interventions and procedures
- Determination of patient disposition and sub-specialty consultation as needed
- Communicates effectively with patient care team members, consultants and most importantly families and children
- Manage, monitor, and coordinate the care of multiple active patients.
- Awareness of department flow and operations
- Maintains appropriate records and prepares chart documentation
- Performs within the scope of practice prescribed by licensure and certification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification / Skills :
Current Texas Licensure
Current DEA licensure
Current National Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certified
Advance Trauma Life Support( ATLS) Certified- Preferred
Nurse Practitioner : Emergency Medicine board Certified requirement
Proficient in the use of medical and surgical instruments and equipment required by work.
Minimum Education :
Degree as Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner
Minimum Experience :
At least 3-5 years of experience as Emergency Medicine NP
