HOW A LINUX SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems
- Contribute to completion of specific engineering programs and projects
- Develop solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems
- Perform complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
- Oversee complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Perform complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
- Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
- Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
EDUCATION : BA / BS or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work / military experience
QUALIFICATIONS : 5+ years of related experience
CLEARANCE : Active TS / SCI clearance required and able to pass a CI polygraph
REQUIRED SKILLS : Linux systems administration
DESIRED SKILLS : A deep expertise in one of the following areas and working knowledge of one or more of the other following :
- Operational support
- Virtualization technologies (VMware, virtual networking, vROPS, XenServer / XCP-ng)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, Capsule technologies
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Ceph storage platform
- GitLab
- Scripting / Coding (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Kubernetes
- Ansible
- Helm charts
- Automation
