Production Supervisor
PAY : $80k - $100k + Bonus
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a two-shift production facility.
This role is responsible for utilizing capital and human resources efficiently to ensure the production of high-quality products, timely deliveries, and cost-effective processes.
The Production Supervisor plays a key role in driving operational excellence, safety, and on-time performance, while continuously improving workflow and meeting customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the production process, including industry standards such as IPC, and have experience in all phases of manufacturing.
The Production Supervisor will report to the Director of Manufacturing and will lead a team to meet the organization’s goals.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage production workflow and oversee product movement through the facility
- Collaborate with the master scheduler to set production priorities and ensure success
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize work cells and improve efficiency
- Cross-train employees across processes to enhance production flexibility
- Establish workflows, assign tasks, and reduce production time to meet delivery, cycle time, and throughput metrics
- Design work cells for maximum efficiency and productivity
- Communicate company policies, procedures, and goals to the production floor, ensuring alignment with management objectives
- Hire, train, and evaluate employees, setting clear expectations and providing timely performance feedback
- Ensure proper training in accordance with ISO standards and complete all training documentation in a timely manner
- Assess employee strengths and development needs, providing feedback and growth opportunities
- Monitor product quality and work with the quality team to set standards
- Conduct regular inspections and address deficiencies to improve overall product quality
- Recognize and reward employee achievements, while addressing performance issues when necessary
Education and Experience
- Advanced degree in engineering, manufacturing operations, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute for a degree)
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing plant experience
- Flexibility to adjust hours to support all shifts as needed
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to set goals, provide constructive feedback, and foster positive relationships
- Proficiency in computer and technical skills, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with manufacturing concepts and applications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Theory of Constraints, or Cell Manufacturing
