This Position :
gWorks is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for learning, a knack for problem-solving, and a drive to deliver quality results on time.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be mentored by our senior staff, contribute to our cloud-native software development, and make a meaningful impact on our product capabilities.
The successful Cloud Engineer is curious, intelligent, and willing to take initiative while learning to balance ambition with humility (a quality we call "humbitious").
The candidate should have a direct, goal-oriented, data-supported, and thoughtful engagement style.
The successful Cloud Engineer will have :
Experience :
- Participate in the cloud-native gWorks development projects under the guidance of more experienced engineers
- Collaborate with engineers, QA team, project managers, and product owners to enhance our software products
- Engage in the software development lifecycle, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
- Learn to troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventative measures
- Be part of the team supporting the transition of our legacy applications into our modern SaaS products.
Qualifications :
- Some professional software development experience or relevant academic qualifications
- 1-year experience or relevant academic training in writing software using C#.NET MVC and Angular in a cloud-native microservices application framework
- Familiarity with Agile CI / CD methodology. Exposure to AWS environment is a plus.
- Good communication and organizational skills
- A strong desire to learn and solve problems, and an ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies
- Interest in a variety of programming languages, technical stacks, and tools is a plus
Success Metrics :
- Successfully contribute to cloud-native software development projects, achieving on-time delivery rate for assigned tasks within the first year.
- Demonstrate effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, resulting in improvement in overall software quality as measured by post-release defect rates.
- Achieve proficiency in at least two new cloud-related technologies within the first year, contributing to an increase in development efficiency.
Work Location and Arrangement :
gWorks is a hybrid work environment, and preference will be given to candidates who are local to the Omaha, Nebraska area.
However, highly qualified candidates who reside outside of the local area and are able to work remotely will also be considered.
- For Omaha-Based Candidates : A hybrid work model, balancing remote work with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- For Remote Candidates : Full support for remote work from any US location.
