Director of Information Technology
Our client is a private equity owned food manufacturing company known for its well-loved and category leading portfolio of premium salad dressings, dips, and spreads.
The company is renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, making it a significant player in the food industry.
We are now looking for an exceptional VP of IT to join their busy, growing, and successful team.
VP of IT
Chicago, IL onsite cash relocation assistance package available if required.
$220-230K + 20% bonus and excellent benefits package.
To be successful in this role :
You will be a confident VP of IT, Head of IT or IT Director with at least 10 years of experience in a similar technical role, along with significant leadership experience.
A background in the food industry background will provide a significant advantage.
Other requirements for this role include :
- BSc / BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
- A proven player-coach familiar with working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with a high sense of urgency
- Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems, specifications and requirements
- Excellent organization and leadership skills, including outstanding communication abilities both verbal and written
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware / software), networks, etc
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly master technology used in the organization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Strong preference for prior experience with MS Dynamics 365
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience preferred

Job role and responsibilities :
As the VP of IT, you will oversee all Information Technology functions of the company and act as a key business partner to functional leaders across the company.
You will also be responsible for supporting the new ERP (MS Dynamics 365) and technology solutions needed to control core business processes.
You will also be responsible for managing the company’s technology infrastructure, security, and operations as well as the development and implementation of company IT policies.
You will be expected to effectively lead a team of IT professionals, manage vendor partners, and deliver IT projects on time and within budget.
Other responsibilities for this role include :
- Work closely with business leaders and integrators to implement a new D365 environment with built out application ecosystem
- Recruit, manage, and develop IT staff
- Lead the build out of a data warehouse and comprehensive reporting / BI solution
- Oversee all technology operations (i.e., infrastructure, network, desktop support, security, etc.) and make recommendations on changes that improve IT service delivery and reliability
- Align with senior leadership / steering committee on IT priorities and resource needs
- Coordinate IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary
- Devise and establish IT policies that support the goals of the organization
- Identify security vulnerabilities and reduce risks by deploying strategic solutions that increase data security
- Build relationships with vendors and create cost-efficient contracts to procure IT equipment, software, and services
- Control IT budget and report on related expenditures
