The Portfolio Manager manages and grows a portfolio of dealer clients across the San Jose Metro market with lines of credit ranging from $50,000 to $2.
5m within an assigned geographic territory. The primary responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with clients, optimizing the portfolio through the clients' use of the line of credit, identifying and mitigating pre-default account risk, and supporting post-default collections on defaulted accounts.
Candidates must live in one of the following cities : Campbell, Castroville, Cupertino, Felton, Freedom, Gilroy, Salinas, San Jose, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Optimize each client's use of the line of credit within an assigned portfolio.
- Achieve goals and performance targets set by the company through regular engagement with clients.
- Educate clients on desired performance behaviors and best practices.
- Collect and analyze client financial information to assess dealer performance.
- Utilize historical data to identify growth opportunities and clients in financial distress.
- Collaborate with Risk and Recovery department for risk mitigation.
- Conduct and record physical inspections of inventory.
- Orchestrate repossession of inventory as necessary.
- Ensure quality control of inventory condition.
- Identify and report any non-compliance or fraud.
- Assist team members with best practices and provide constructive feedback.
- Conduct visits with existing sales executives to review best practices.
- Assist with in-person risk mitigation in high-risk areas.
- Document all conversations and activities in Salesforce.
- Onboard new clients to ensure a positive experience.
- Submit expense reports and other documents timely.
- Cultivate cross-functional business unit relationships.
- Participate in other projects and initiatives as required.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Vast knowledge of the automotive and finance industries.
- Proficiency in reading and analyzing financials.
- Strong financial acumen and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a remote environment.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Salesforce.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field.
- Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- 1 year of experience as a Portfolio Manager strongly preferred.
- Automotive and floorplan industry background required.
Physical Demands :
- Ability to visit clients at least 75% of the time.
- Ability for overnight stays.
- A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Compensation :
Compensation includes a base salary of $93,400.00 - $140,200.00. The base salary may vary based on factors such as location and candidate's qualifications.
