Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Medicine Job Type : PRN / Hourly 12 hour variable shiftsDepartment / Unit SummaryThe Adult Psychiatric Unit is a 29-bed locked unit.

The unit provides comprehensive mental health care to individuals between the ages of 18-59. Individuals over the age of 59 are evaluated for admission on an individual basis.

Patients admitted to the unit have a primary DSM 5 diagnosis / es. However, patients may also have additional diagnoses, including, but not limited to Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, medical comorbidities, etc.

Patients must be medically stable as a criteria for admission. Safety practices include 15-minute safety checks, staff monitoring of all community areas and staff presence during meals and visiting hours.

Nursing care, daily psychiatric assessments, therapy and medication management are provided to meet the emotional, behavioral, physical, cultural, educational and spiritual needs of the adult patient population.
