Job Title : UX / UI Designer

Location : Washington, D.C. (Onsite)

Duration : 12 months contract

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented UX / UI Designer to focus on developing cutting-edge e-commerce platforms. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into intuitive, accessible, and high-performing front-end user interfaces. The ideal candidate will master the end-to-end design process, from low-fidelity wireframes and clickable prototypes to final design specifications, ensuring all digital products follow best practices in mobile-first design, accessibility (WCAG / ADA), and data-informed iteration within an Agile (SAFe / Scrum) environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create a range of design artifacts, including low- to high-fidelity wireframes for front-end screens.
  • Develop robust, clickable prototypes for user testing and validation with stakeholders and end users.
  • Define detailed interaction states that align with backend system responses.
  • Apply and enforce consistent UI patterns, corporate branding, and accessibility standards across designs.
  • Iteratively refine designs based on performance metrics, user feedback, and A / B testing results.
  • Ensure all front-end designs meet WCAG and ADA accessibility requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with QA teams during testing cycles to ensure design fidelity.
  • Provide timely design clarifications and support to development teams during Agile / Scrum sprints.
  • Create comprehensive design documentation and specifications for effective developer handoff.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a UX / UI Designer or similar role, preferably in e-commerce or digital product environments.
  • Proficiency in design tools, especially Figma, for wireframing, prototyping, and collaboration.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
  • Experience with design systems and component-based design thinking.
  • Familiarity with WCAG and ADA accessibility best practices and commitment to inclusive design.
  • Experience operating within a SAFe or Scrum Agile framework, including participation in design sprints.
  • Ability to conduct data-informed design using analytics, heatmaps, and A / B testing to guide product decisions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, QA).
  • We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
