Description
This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in various system engineering activities for existing nuclear power plant electrical systems.
You will work on interesting and challenging issues that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
Responsibilities include directly supporting various nuclear plants in the following areas :
- Developing monthly mitigating system performance index indicators
- Provide failure investigation process to support site causal team(s)
- Provide support for various modification planning activities
- Provide on call outage support
- Provide assistance in maintenance rule equipment availability
- Provide preventative maintenance completion ratio reviews and approval
- Perform walkdowns as necessary
- Support corrective action completion
- Support various planned plant audits such as NRC inspections, Problem Identification and Resolution, etc.
- The majority of the work can be performed remotely, however; there will be a need for periodic trips to the respective nuclear sites.
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience :
- A Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- 5 or more years’ experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for industrial applications, with a focus on design for existing nuclear power plants
- Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, and the preparation and assembling of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications
- Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motor, relays, etc.)
- Operational awareness of Electrical systems and respective preventative maintenance strategies
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team members and client
- Detail oriented approach to work
- Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear power station
Valued but not required skills and experience :
- PE license
- Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering
