Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of the RN, assist in care planning and treatments for residents and consults with other nursing staff as appropriate with applying knowledge and resources
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills required to care for the resident population on an assigned unit
  • Review resident medical records to ensure nursing practice provided is within State and Federal guidelines
  • Document care provided and report changes in resident status to shift supervisor
  • Review all referrals for consultation, treatment or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to the documented nurse plans
  • Seeks opportunities for professional growth and expansion of responsibilities to maintain competency levels
  • Set and implement goals and policies consistent with the philosophy and purpose of FutureCares nursing facility

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active LPN license issued in the state of Maryland
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred
  • Previous experience caring for residents in an acute or long-term health care facility a plus
  • Team player with strong work ethic and a willingness to assist where needed
  • Must possess a current CPR license
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal communication with all personnel, residents, and families
