$5,000 Sign on bonus for eligible RN's
Shift Differential : Evening $5.50 / Hour Weekday & $6.00 / Hour Weekend
Night $4.00 / Hours Weekday & $7.00 / Hour Weekend
The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR), located in Burkeville, Virginia is recruiting for Registered Nurses (RN II).
VCBR is a behavioral treatment center recognized for securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders.
VCBR provides recovery, opportunity and support to residents so they may safely return to their communities and is the only facility in the Commonwealth that provides such service.
The Registered Nurse (RN II) upholds the professional image of the Nursing Department as a role model & mentor for other disciplines, utilizing knowledge base & experience;
provides nursing care to residents through the nursing department; maintains a safe, therapeutic environment, using the least restrictive measures necessary and upholds the rights and dignity of the residents & their families.
The successful incumbent will have the following KSA's and / or Competencies required to successfully perform the job duties.
- Knowledge of : professional nursing principles and techniques used in the assessment, care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, aging individuals, women, men, and culturally diverse individual's unique healthcare needs respectively : laws and regulations covering nursing practices relative to rules on resident / client protection for residents / clients with mental / psychological illness / disabilities : principles and procedures of infection control in a high-risk environment to minimize the risk of the transmission of communicable diseases : principles of effective, verbal, written and group communication to accurately and effectively communicate job related information;
- medical terminology used in the assessment, care and treatment of residents / clients with mental / psychological illness / disabilities in order to support and assess mental health problems, work with physicians to develop care plans, assess crisis, provide support and education, and integrate internal and external mental health services;
skills to complete specific training to perform in a distinct, complex and secure environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Virginia Registered Nurse license.
Additional Considerations
Experience in a psychiatric, medical setting and / or correctional setting preferred.
