Shy Bird is seeking a Food Runner & Expeditor to join the service team. This critical position is responsible for running food and supporting service.
This role will work closely with the Front & Back of House team to ensure food is prepared, run or packed in a timely and accurate manner.
Shy Bird strives to deliver an amazing experience whether a guest is dining in, taking away or getting delivery. The food runner & expeditor role is the primary position ensuring we deliver on that goal.
The description below is for the Food Runner & Expeditor position, but everyone works side by side at Shy Bird. We operate with an All In, All Day mentality where in everyone is expected to contribute as the needs of the restaurant dictate.
Responsibilities : Build a knowledge of all food menus and established standards, striving for consistency in both flavor and presentation Recognize repeat guests and look for opportunities with FOH staff to create memorable moments with dine in or takeout Learn all table numbers and run food, bus tables, and support service however needed Learn the full functionality of our Kitchen Display Systems Review and understand all guest orders, including in-restaurant dining, takeout and delivery Receive, check and pack all guest orders Communicate effectively to both front of house and back of house teams Keep all materials for takeout / delivery + dining organized, including plates, bags, boxes & labels.
