UPPER SCHOOL : VARSITY WRESTLING ASSISTANT COACH
Pace Academy, an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Georgia, with an enrollment of 1150 students in pre-first through twelfth grades, has an opening for 2024-25.

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS :
A part-time, October to March seasonal appointment. Responsibilities include practices and matches on Monday-Friday and some Saturday games / weekend tournaments.
Limited practices / events are held / scheduled over Thanksgiving vacation and winter holiday break. All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on a seasonal review conducted by the Director of Athletics & Head Wrestling Coach.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Working closely with the head coach, the varsity assistant coach is responsible for initiating and supporting all aspects of the wrestling program.
The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE :
- Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy
- Candidate must have experience coaching and a good understanding of how to work with Grade 9-12 student-athletes;
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
- Effective leadership and coaching;
- Good communication skills with players, parents, and the Athletics Department;
- Energetic, self-motivated, flexible, punctual, dependable, and a team player.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Team coaching with the coaching staff on a daily basis;
- Drive wrestlers to / from games, as needed;
- Represent Pace Academy and the wrestling program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season
