POSITION SUMMARY :
If you are passionate about employee development and possess strong instructional design and e-learning skills, Wescom is looking for you! As a Sr.
Training and Development Specialist you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of a variety of operational, professional, and / or management development skills training, with a focus on ensuring Wescom employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to help our members build better lives.
The Sr. Training and Development Specialist may also serve as an internal consultant to help identify performance gaps and recommend appropriate interventions.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS :
Uses a variety of performance assessments to identify performance gaps. Analyzes each performance gap and recommends appropriate solutions such as training, job aids, performance coaching, or behavioral modeling.
Assesses training needs by performing task and job analyses. Regularly monitors performance and conducts one-on-one interviews to understand training needs.
Uses proven instructional systems design methods to development instructional strategies for identified training needs. Instructional strategies may include stand up training, computer based training, video based training, self-study programs, and job aids.
Creates project plans to ensure instructional design projects meet organizational timelines.
Uses a variety of software programs to develop leader's guides, participant materials, job aids, on-the-job checklists, skills assessments, and other instructional materials.
Facilitates a variety of training programs in operations skills, member service, professional development, and management development.
Uses adult learning principles and advanced knowledge of group dynamics, along with strong facilitation skills to ensure a safe learning environment.
Gathers performance data used for measuring the transfer of learning and / or return on investment for each training program.
May provide guidance or leadership to other staff members in the development, production and launch of training programs or organization development initiatives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Psychology, or a related field preferred and three to six years formal training and development experience required.
Experience delivering management and organizational development interventions required.
Advanced knowledge of adult learning, facilitation, instructional design and development is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Advanced communication skills including written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Excellent project management skills required.
Knowledge of financial institution operations is desired.
COMPUTER SKILLS :
Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the Symitar system.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
