Department

OB / GYN Physicians

Job Summary

Denver Health Medical Center is recruiting for a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician to join our Ob / Gyn team. Our MFM team offers specialized obstetrical care to pregnant patients and fetus, who may be considered moderate to high-risk, from conception (or sometimes pre-conception) through the post-partum period.

Provide consultation to physicians and advance practice providers (CNM, NP) who care for pregnant patients in the Denver health network.

Denver Health Hospital is the safety net hospital for the city and county of Denver. The OB / GYN Department provides full-scope obstetric and gynecologic services.

The focus of our care is on the underserved populations of the city and county of Denver. As such, we serve patients who are primarily government insured, or without insurance, and who tend to be more medically and socially complex than at other institutions in the Denver metro area.

In terms of obstetric volume, the hospital performs approximately 4,000 deliveries per year. At any time, approximately half of the obstetric patients receive their care in the OB / GYN clinics staffed by the OB / GYN physicians and Advanced Practice Providers of the Department, while the other half receive their care in outlying community clinics staffed by Family Medicine providers.

Denver Health is a teaching affiliate of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Physicians in the OB / GYN Department have regular teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students, in both clinical and didactic settings.

A Maternal and Fetal Medicine physician in the Department is expected to contribute to and guide the care of patients with high-risk conditions in pregnancy.

Additionally, based on the traditional model of Denver Health, Maternal and Fetal Medicine physicians participate in low-risk obstetric care responsibilities.
