Salary : $120,000 - 180,000
As the Compliance and Privacy Officer, you will ensure that CPC’s internal practices and programs meet all legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant healthcare policies.
Your primary responsibility will be to measure organizational compliance accurately through internal audits and investigations.
Based on your findings, you will recommend effective strategies to implement the highest quality industry standards in our practices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to identify business goals and performance gaps.
- Develop and implement company-wide practices and programs to ensure compliance with standards.
- Review all relevant documents, perform, coordinate an organization-wide audit, review all areas of possible noncompliance within the organization and support audit reporting requirements.
- Establish, finalize and manage all compliance group policies.
- Develop, coordinate, and / conduct necessary training programs for all members of CPC. The initial training will include complete education regarding the corporate compliance guidelines.
- Investigate compliance concerns and verify regulatory violations.
- Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues / concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Identify organizational vulnerabilities and develop standard operating procedures, policies, and protocols.
- Maintain fluency in state and federal regulations related to our services.
- Develop and lead corrective action plans and strategies to prevent repeat citations.
- Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed, to keep management team informed of the operation and progress of compliance and risk management efforts.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, business, or equivalent experience. Masters preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing compliance, risk / regulatory programs in a healthcare setting.
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accreditation and certification bodies (ACHC, URAC, OSHA).
- Extensive knowledge of HIPAA, federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and practice management software.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and management.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to form strong relationships and build trust within the organization.
- Ability to travel to various practice sites (as necessary).
- Compliance experience with virtual health providers (would be a plus).
