1.0 Position Summary

This position will require full ownership of all aspects of the intermodal drayage trucking operations including but not limited to the following : daily operations, profit & loss, achieving budget goals, sales, contractor recruiting & retention, facility maintenance, office personnel management, and more.

This is a hands-on manager position. Will require full knowledge and the ability to perform all aspects of the operation.

Prior intermodal drayage experience is required.

2.0 Reporting

Terminal location : Atlanta, GA

Reports to SVP, Operations

HR FLSA Status : Exempt

Office hours : 8am 5pm with afterhours engagement as required.

Due to the workload requirements of this position, we will need a commitment to work after-hours.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

3.0 Essential Functions, Job Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement terminal strategies
  • Ensures the terminal is properly staffed, and staff are adequately trained
  • Oversees property, leases and safety and security at the terminals
  • Directly monitors day to day operations for efficiency and profitability
  • Assist in development of operational and sales strategies
  • Works directly with sales team to ensure adequate revenue
  • Make additional sales calls as needed
  • Manages and monitors terminal budget and is responsible for ensuring budgeted numbers are met.
  • Direct Capex, Opex and P&L oversight
  • Responsible for proper XRS training, installs and ensures HOS are being met
  • Responsible for terminal following proper process and procedure in TMW operating system
  • Responsible for terminals following proper MNR, billing, CSR and Admin processes and procedures
  • Handles all other task related to the terminal and backup.
  • Performs all other duties or projects as assigned .
  • Travel as needed to attend meetings and conferences

4.0 Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree from a four-year college; or two to five years of experience in intermodal drayage; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5.0 Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

  • Computer skills Proficiency in Microsoft platforms and various transportation operating systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to understand financial and sales performance statements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with and manage people

6.0 Work Conditions, Physical and / or Mental Requirements

  • Sedentary physical activity requiring reaching, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, and hearing.
  • Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • 90% or more time is spent looking directly at a computer.
  • Employee is frequently required to stand, walk (or otherwise be mobile).
  • Employee is frequently required to lift and carry a minimum of 15 pounds.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise.

Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. Minimal physical effort is required. Lifting and carrying requirements of up to 15 pounds.

Occasional or frequent ability to move boxes from one location to another. These physical and / or mental requirements are not exhaustive, and additional job-related requirements may be added by the Company on an as-needed basis.
