JOB DESCRIPTION :
- As Training Manager for Sponsored Research Management Services (SRMS), provides school and department level onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development to all staff of Sponsored Research Management Services (SRMS) Units.
- Assists the unit or school leadership to evaluate new hires and existing staff to determine training needs and address any performance issues requiring training.
- Identifies coaching materials for leaders and disseminates accordingly as a form of training and professional development.
- Plans, organizes, and develops training curricula, materials, and programs to meet specific training needs.
- Builds upon central university training materials to provide local and detailed application thereof in systems, templates, reports, etc.
- Analyzes learning needs, provides content based on research administration experience, and collaborates with SMEs to develop course content.
- Plans and coordinates skill assessments and training. Works with management to ensure course materials are current and relevant to training needs.
- May facilitate specific onboarding and training activities.
- Tracks and analyzes training programs by examining learner's satisfaction levels and proficiency testing.
- Works with existing knowledge, the SMEs and / or other offices to convert local content into training material to include printed / online role-based training manuals, job aids, policies and procedures, workflows, and supporting presentations for instructor led training.
- Maintains a centralized repository of training material and an online library of training material by managing updates / changes from content experts to ensure all material available is up to date.
- Ensures appropriate training materials are accessible to staff.
- Utilizes the Emory Learning Management System to track and monitor training participation and assessments.
- Develops, delivers, and maintains school / unit and departmental level onboarding and on-the-job training sessions, materials, and manuals.
- Develops and tracks metrics to monitor efficiency and efficacy of SRMS training programs; solicits feedback from SRMS leaders on training enhancement needs to help improve operations and uses that feedback to develop additional training content.
- Provides a set of consistent reports based on training enrollment / registration tracking to SRMS Directors and other leaders on a regular basis, possibly using automated system reporting.
- Responds to requests for data and information from school business and finance offices related to onboarding and training efforts.
- May hold a small pre- and post-award portfolio to maintain subject matter expertise as it relates to the day-to-day tasks performed by SRMS teams.
- May serve as a stakeholder on institutional level business process improvement initiatives as it relates SRMS training needs as regards information dissemination.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in research administration, education, or related field and five years of research administration or training development experience OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Skilled in project management and demonstrated familiarity with training principles.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple subject matter experts and / or stakeholders.
- Research administration or related higher education experience is strongly preferred.
NOTE : This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.
Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
