Behr Paint Company is seeking a Director of Procurement to join our extraordinary team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our ambitious mission to maintain flawless supply chain operations and ensure the highest quality raw materials for our operations.

We are looking for a proven leader who can successfully implement efficient procurement systems, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with various departments to optimize inventory management.

As the Director of Procurement, you will have the opportunity to lead a passionate team and make a significant impact on our organization.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the procurement department, including supply chain and logistics.
  • Supervise procurement staff and assume their duties as needed.
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain favorable pricing, availability, and delivery scheduling.
  • Develop and maintain purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and Quality Assurance to ensure efficient inventory management and uninterrupted supply.
  • Manage inquiries, complaints, and issues from customers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Track and analyze purchasing activities and apply the results to procurement decisions.
  • Maintain department budget and expenses within budgeted levels.
  • Work with Cost Accounting to analyze material costs and determine necessary pricing actions.
  • Participate in project teams related to economic procurement of materials.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree of equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Procurement, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field will also be considered.
  • MBA or advanced business management degree is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of paint technology and chemical industry standards is preferred.
  • Considerable experience in high-value contract negotiations for procurement of commodities.
  • Management / supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of computerized purchasing systems and MS Office Suites.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated high standards of business ethics.
