Per Se Group is seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator with a strong background in commercial and industrial construction.
The successful candidate will lead the estimating team, overseeing the preparation of bids, budgets, and pre-construction services for various projects.
This position requires a hands-on leader with extensive experience in estimating practices, cost analysis, and project management for large-scale commercial and industrial developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the estimating team for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates.
- Develop detailed bid proposals, budgets, and schedules for projects.
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals, ensuring accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project management and business development teams during pre-construction to develop pricing strategies.
- Conduct value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
- Track and analyze trends in construction costs, labor, and materials.
- Oversee the procurement and selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the accuracy of cost estimates.
- Manage risk assessments and ensure all estimates comply with client and company standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of estimating experience in commercial and industrial construction.
- Proven leadership and management experience in a senior estimator or chief estimator role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of estimating techniques, construction processes, and project management.
- Strong proficiency in construction estimating software (such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
