Junior Machine Operator

The Junior Machine Operator safely and efficiently assists with operation of our automated packaging machine.

• This position assists the operator in working the automated machine on a food production line and produces food products within specifications as required on the daily schedule.
• Responsible for producing food products within the specified quality requirements.
• Follows and promotes Food Safety and practicing and enforcing all GMPs and appropriate food defense techniques.
• Monitors products as they are produced to ensure high quality and that product meets all specifications.
• Performs duties in a safe manner and comply with all regulations and company policies.
• Cleans and sanitizes the production area in the facility.
• Assistance with machine disassembly and reassemly.
• Informs supervisor and / or manager of any equipment malfunctions or other production issues as they arise.
• Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays upon occasion.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifiications

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
• Mechanically inclined
• 6 months previous packaging experience
• 1-3 years experience of food production / manufacturing experience, required
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Knowledge of manufacturing procedures and operations
• Experience and desire to support a culture built on collaboration, sharing of ideas and celebration of successes as well as drive for positive outcomes with cross-functional teams.
• Work with supervisor to create standard operating procedures and training documentation

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods of standing on production floor
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• OT is mandatory when scheduled
• Mainly inside a production and warehouse environment
• Exposure to loud machinery noises
• Must be able to work near food ingredients, exposure to food allergens
• Location : inside an air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment
• You must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
• You must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
