Feed Store Laborer

Position Overview :

As a Feed Store Laborer, you will be an essential part of the daily operations of a feed store.

Your primary responsibilities will revolve around assisting customers, handling inventory, and ensuring the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained.

This position requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will play a vital role in supporting the store's overall efficiency and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities :

• Customer Assistance : Greet customers in a friendly and helpful manner. Provide information about products, answer inquiries, and assist with finding the appropriate feed or other farm products for their needs.
• Loading and Unloading : Receive incoming shipments of feed, hay, straw, and other products. Unload and store merchandise using proper equipment and safety protocols.
• Inventory Management : Keep track of inventory levels and notify the store manager when products need restocking.
• Stocking Shelves : Restock shelves and arrange products in a neat and organized manner.
• Cashier Duties : Operate a mobile point of sale system and process customer transactions accurately. Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods professionally
• Maintenance : Keep the store premises clean and tidy at all times. This includes sweeping, racking, and taking out trash as needed.

Regularly inspect and report any maintenance or safety issues to the manager.

• Product Knowledge : Stay informed about various feed products, animal supplies, and their applications to assist customers effectively.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with other store employees, such as sales associates, managers, and delivery personnel, to ensure smooth store operations.
• Compliance : Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Adhere to company policies, regulations, and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Skills :

• Physical strength and ability to lift heavy bags or containers (up to 65 pounds).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and maintaining inventory records.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in stocking shelves and loading customers order up.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of agricultural products and feed is a plus, but not mandatory (on-the-job training may be provided).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays, as feed stores often serve farmers and ranchers who may have varying schedules.
