Travel Nurse (RN) - ICU (Intensive Care Unit) - Albany, New York - 905182

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - Neuro ICU / SICU

Shift : Nights / 7p-7 : 30a (12x3) 36 hours per week

Length : 26 weeks

Requirements :

• NY RN License
• 2 years experience
• Epic experience required
• Must have RECENT Trauma Level 1 experience
• Must have competency with EVDs, bolts, ICP management along with experience with trauma and complex surgical patients

Other details :

• The Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU and Neuro ICU) has a combined total of 30 intensive care beds designed to provide specialized care to the critically ill adult (14 and older) patient
• SICU-Neuro ICU nurses require the following skill set - ICP monitoring via EVD and bolt, spinal drains / catheters, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, reconstructive flap monitoring, and massive blood transfusion among others.

Nursing will support the following on-unit procedures including placement of arterial lines, central lines, external ventricular drains and ICP monitors, SEPS drains, bedside bronchoscopy, abdominal washouts, tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, pigtail drains and others

1.5 years of 600+ bed academic hospital experience or 2 years of total (traveling + perm) experience

Intensive care unit travel nurse jobs, otherwise known as critical care unit (CCU) travel nurse jobs, specialize in providing care to the most acutely ill patients in the hospital.

An ICU travel nurse might work in ICU burn unit, abdominal transplant acute care, neuro ICU, post-op, surgical ICU (SICU), trauma ICU or cardiovascular ICU (CVICU).

Critical care nurses may also care for age-specific patients in the pediatric ICU (PICU) or neonatal ICU (NICU). Aside from clinical care such as skills with ventilators and tracheostomy tubes, travel ICU nurse jobs need a RN who can deliver progress updates and support to patients and / or their family.
