Job Title : Senior Software Development Engineer
Location(s) : Redmond, WA
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Builder Operations and Developer Tools team is responsible for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) by building AWS backend services.
We are looking for a Senior Engineer with advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services infrastructure such as ECR, EC2, Docker, IAM, DynamoDB, Lambdas, CloudWatch, and API Gateways.
Experience building pipelines, using CDK, and troubleshooting pipeline stacks is good to have. Proficiency in Golang, Python, or PHP is required.
The candidate will participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and testing to operations.
This includes designing and implementing a wide range of software using the AWS stack, sometimes requiring partnership with low-level embedded code software systems and architecting scalable design solutions for software distribution and deployment for satellites.
You must be able to disambiguate a high level of ambiguity and unknowns, design flexible solutions, and succeed within an open, collaborative environment.
Experience developing large-scale systems with a focus on operational excellence and scalability is essential.
Key Job Responsibilities :
- Software architecture and design.
- Understanding of AWS stack - Docker, IAM, Lambdas, CloudWatch, API Gateways.
- CDK constructs and pipelines.
- Build tools for developer productivity, monitoring, and observability metrics dashboard.
Basic Qualifications :
- 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language (Golang, PHP, Python, or Java).
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor and leading a development project.
Preferred Qualifications :
- 8+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
