Manager Cost Optimization
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving results? We're looking for a Manager Cost Optimization to take the lead in shaping the future of our global Oxygen Passenger Service Unit (PSU) business within the Safety, Cargo, and Lighting (SCL) organization.
In this high-impact role, you'll develop and execute cost-saving strategies, optimize supplier performance, and lead global work transfer initiatives across our facilities. You'll partner closely with teams across Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, Legal, Engineering, and Operations to deliver measurable value and long-term supply chain success.

While the preferred location for this role is our Lenexa, KS facility, we're also open to candidates based out of our Phoenix, AZ facility. This position follows a hybrid role type.
What You Will Do
- Responsible and lead target cost savings and headwind mitigation strategy for one of the Safety, Cargo, and Lighting (SCL) business and deliver annual cost savings
- Develop and deploy strategy of all parts in specific business collaboration with SCL, Global Strategy Sourcing (GSS), Global Supplier Development (GSD).
- Responsible for all aspects of the relationship management with key suppliers for the business and responsible for supplier performance
- Strong knowledge of contract management to support supplier contracts
- Knowledge of Collins work transfer gated process and drive various work transfers
- Good knowledge on commodity management and strategy
- Provides expertise to one or more Supply Chain disciplines in implementations and process execution.
- Works with internal cross functional teams to coordinate procurement and work transfers.
- Assists in gathering information on new suppliers, sources, market, current processes and prices; Provides inputs based on issues faced in day-to-day operations; Executes approved initiatives under guidance of supervisor.
- Resolves general queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Adheres to import, export, tariffs, and excise regulation as per compliance.
- Manages major responsibilities across multiple supply chain disciplines on a regular basis.
- Performs supply chain activities that cannot be attributed to a defined discipline.
- Persistent curiosity to explore and deploy continuous improvement of supply chain performance that aligns with operations strategies. Drive supplier objective and subjective performance to peak levels with appropriate engagement and relationship building.
- Help develop projects that drive improved supply assurance, quality and cost. Collaborate with engineering and operations to create, prioritize and execute business impactful projects.
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen. Ability to build business cases and articulate them to a mixed audience.
- Understand and follow all compliance purchasing requirements.
- Support business travel up 10-20% (both domestic and international)
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires an Engineering or University Degree and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experienceSupplier strategy and Work transfer / Supply chain project management experience (or related)Contract support or negotiation experienceQualifications We Prefer
