Crew Member - Transportation Technology

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Crew Member - Transportation Technology (Field) to join our team in Chantilly, VA! In this role you will support multiple clients through supporting maintenance and installation of many different types of technologies along the roadside.

We are looking for self-driven and motivated individuals who like a challenge and are willing to work hard to ensure safety to the traveling public.

What You'll Be Doing :

Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones including flagging.

Perform manual labor and utilize hand and power tools such as trimmers, pole saws, jackhammer, concrete saw, drills, shovels, etc.

Perform skilled equipment operations.

Operate light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and equipment.

Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.

Follow the safety rules and regulations of the Company, Client & OSHA regulations.

Safe handling and use of all equipment assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

High School plus advanced training, and typically 1+ years of experience.

Experience operating hand and power tools.

Ability to work outside in all types of weather.

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. for short distances.

Ability to work flexible hours with possible rotational on-call as needed.

Ability to work on uneven terrain.

Ability to properly hear and understand or interpret verbal job site instructions and properly perform such instructions in English.

Must be able to pass Parsons and client background check and drug screening.

Ability to follow directions to complete various job tasks.

Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job, ability to operate equipment

Driver’s license required. (Must be able to meet our insurance requirements.) CDL license is preferred.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring :

Experience working with Transportation Technology systems is preferred but will provide training.

Virginia Workzone Safety certification is a plus.

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

CDL and forklift experience are a plus.

Salary Range :
