Overview

This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI). Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance existing web applications maintained within the Enterprise section. This person will join an existing team responsible for maintaining and enhancing web-based applications.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, frontend and backend web application development, testing, and participation in interactive code reviews.
  • Develop quality code, follow coding standards, active participation in code reviews, and provide technical documentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required Technical Skills

  • C# and ASP.NET (MVC 5 & Core 8); experience building and maintaining web applications using both legacy (.NET Framework) and modern (.NET Core) platforms.
  • .NET Core 6 / 7 / 8; experience developing RESTful APIs and web applications using .NET Core, including dependency injection, middleware, and minimal APIs.
  • VB.NET; ability to understand, debug, and enhance legacy codebase.
  • .NET Framework (4.8); deep understanding of the .NET runtime, libraries, and configuration.
  • Kendo UI (jQuery + MVC Wrappers); experience creating rich UI components and interactions using Kendo UI widgets.
  • JavaScript & jQuery; frontend scripting, DOM manipulation, AJAX calls, and event-driven UI design.
  • SQL Server; writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Oracle & DB2; understanding of working with multiple RDBMS systems and data integration.

    • Well-qualified Candidates Will Also Have

  • Web API (RESTful service); building and consuming web services with security and versioning in mind.
  • Entity Framework / Dapper / ADO.NET; ORM tools and raw data access strategies.
  • Front-End Integration; HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and browser compatibility.
  • Unit Testing; writing and maintaining unit tests for both front-end and back-end code.
  • Version Control Systems; experience with Git.

    • Team & Expectations

    The person in this position will work closely with the team in developing the frontend and server side of the web application. Project duties include requirements analysis, front-end and back-end web application development, testing, and participation in interactive code reviews. The developer may work on other projects as needed. A successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be a team player.
