Key Responsibilities :

The Product Line Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific product line within Hartzell Engine Tech. This role involves managing a team of operators, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. The supervisor serves as a critical link between management and the production floor, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.

Key Expected Deliverables from the position :

Production Management :

Plan, schedule, and oversee production activities to meet established goals for quality, quantity, and timeline.

Monitor production metrics and adjust resources as needed to optimize utilization, efficiency, and output.

Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to coordinate production schedules and resolve bottlenecks.

Team Leadership :

Supervise and provide guidance to production team members, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.

Address and resolve employee concerns in a fair and timely manner.

Quality Assurance :

Ensure products meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address defects or deviations.

Work closely with the Quality Control team to implement corrective actions and process improvements.

Safety and Compliance :

Promote and enforce adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

Conduct safety training and ensure team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Investigate and document incidents or near-misses, implementing preventative measures to avoid recurrence.

Continuous Improvement :

Identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.

Lead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement equipment upgrades or new technologies.

Administrative Duties :

Maintain accurate records of production data, including shift reports, attendance, and performance metrics.

Manage inventory levels of raw materials and supplies for the product line.

Participate in budget planning and cost control activities.

Requirements : Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.

Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Demands

Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

Requires standing, walking, and occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds.

May involve occasional travel for training or meetings.
