Summary of Job Duties :

The UREC Swim lesson instructor is responsible for teaching participants of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence to be safe in and around water.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Current University of Arkansas student

Must possess Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (UREC will provide a certification opportunity, if needed)

Pediatric & Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or be able to obtain certification within 40 days of hire (UREC will provide a certification opportunity, if needed)

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience working in the Department of University Recreation

At least one year of teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs) :

Knowledge and ability to teach all 4 swim strokes
