Job Description
This position is part of the Infection Prevention Center of Excellence (IP CoE) in the Endoscopic Solutions Division and manages the portfolio of projects (e.
g., portfolio rollup, processes, business systems, and training projects) in line with the global IP CoE strategic plans.
The Program Manager is responsible for governing the progress of IP initiatives in the Americas, while shaping new initiatives scopes and charters, supporting executing teams, managing stakeholder across Olympus Functions & Business Units globally, and escalation issues with mitigation actions to management.
The Program Manager reports directly to Sr. Program Manager, Global, Infection Prevention Center of Excellence and is a critical member of Program Management Office (PMO).
The individual collaborates with cross-functional teams including internal / external business stakeholders within Olympus Medical (ESD and TSD), QARA, Medical and Clinical Affairs, and the broader Olympus organization as appropriate.
Job Duties
- Contributes to the Project Management Office (PMO) for the Americas regions tasked with implementing a project management framework, standardized processes and tools to enable a best practice approach to execute IP CoE’s project portfolio.
- Engages with teams to support on IP initiatives, problem-solving & facilitation of expertise by involving IP specialists and facilitate cross-functional collaboration on execution
- Governs and tracks progress, reports and escalates issues to mgmt. with proposed mitigation actions
- Contributes to IP roadmap & tracking tool for all Olympus' IP initiatives for the Americas region
- Reports and escalate issues with proposed mitigation actions (with PMO)
- Collaborates with the IP CoE leadership team to triage short-term and long-range plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and effective in meeting goals;
leveraging technology; ensuring training delivery and compliance across all functional areas
- Collaborates with divisional and departmental leaders, project sponsors, project managers, process owners / leads (as well as key regional and or corporate business stakeholders) to manage, prioritize and maintain the portfolio IP CoE projects and initiatives
- Develops and implements a customer centric model of project support that conveys understanding of the voice of the customer (i.
- e., comments and questions of others) through the development of effective relationships by understanding the agenda and perspectives of others;
recognizing and balancing the interest and needs of one’s own group with those of the broader organization.
Job Qualifications
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health policy, life sciences or program management.
- Minimum of 8 years program management experience from large transformations, post-merger integrations and other programs with multiple parallel initiatives and short timelines
- Experience working in a global cross-functional team (functional / matrix) environment and knowledge and / or experience working with groups with varied cultural backgrounds and learning styles is required.
- Domestic and international travel 20%, including weekend and evening travel as needed.
Preferred :
- MedTech experience is preferred to understand the business context
- Experience in the field of Infection Prevention is preferred to engage on content
- Training in project process management methodologies (e.g., PMP, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and change management preferred, including project change management and personnel transition management.
- Process management expert staying on top of multiple ongoing project, defining project scopes and timelines, engaging with executing team, tracking progress and escalating issues
- Stakeholder and political navigator managing a complex and political stakeholder landscape to most effectively move initiatives forward and enable decision-making
- Strong interpersonal skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills are needed to successful engage with teams and advising the executive mgmt.
