DESCRIPTION
Wound and Ostomy nurses care for patients with wounds caused by medical treatments, diseases, or injuries. Nurses will also provide post-surgery treatments and care for patients with ostomies.
These nurses often work with a healthcare team that assesses patients, manages wounds and monitors healing. Nurses work to prevent bedsores, help ulcers, abscesses and feeding tube sites to heal quickly, clean wounds and develop wound care treatment plans.
