About the Role

We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist (LP) or Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) to conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children with suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental differences.

This position primarily serves our Durham clinic, with occasional travel to our Fayetteville, NC clinic as needed. Travel time is compensated in addition to assessment pay.

This role is ideal for a clinician who is detail-oriented, empathetic, and passionate about improving the lives of children and families.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct autism and developmental assessments using standardized tools such as ADOS-2, ADI-R, CARS, or DISCO .
  • Interpret results and provide compassionate feedback to families during follow-up consultations.
  • Complete clear, comprehensive written reports within seven (7) days of evaluation completion.
  • Serve as a Licensed Qualified Autism Service Provider (LQASP) in accordance with NC Medicaid requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal ABA and clinical teams to ensure integrated, high-quality care.
  • Uphold ethical, professional, and HIPAA-compliant clinical practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits as needed.
  • What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree or higher in Clinical Psychology , School Psychology , or a related field.
  • Active North Carolina LP or LPA license in good standing.
  • Experience conducting autism evaluations and interpreting standardized assessment tools.
  • Strong clinical judgment, documentation accuracy, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, family-centered care.
  • Willingness to travel between Durham and Fayetteville clinics (paid travel).
  • Prior clinic-based or interdisciplinary experience preferred.
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay : Licensed Psychologists and LPAs are compensated at $350 per completed diagnostic assessment , with additional pay for travel between clinic locations (equivalent to approximately $100–$150 / hour , depending on case length).
  • Schedule : Monday–Friday, daytime hours; no evenings or weekends.
  • Work Environment : Clinic-based; administrative and report-writing time included.

    Requirements

    Education & Licensure Requirements :

    Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in Psychology and active North Carolina Licensed Psychologist (LP) license

    OR

    Master’s degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology) and active North Carolina Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) license (supervision required per NC Psychology Board guidelines)

    Training in autism diagnostic assessment preferred (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R, CARS)

    Required Skills & Qualifications :

    Active North Carolina LP or LPA license in good standing

    Proficiency in administering and interpreting standardized autism assessments (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R, CARS, DISCO)

    Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic formulation skills

    Excellent written communication and report-writing ability

    Ability to provide compassionate, family-centered feedback

    Strong organizational and time management skills

    Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional standards (HIPAA compliance)

    Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinic environment
