Plumbing Apprentice

Position Type : Part-Time (3 Days per Week)

Location : Shelby, NC

Job Summary

The Plumbing Apprentice assists licensed plumbers with installations, repairs, and maintenance of plumbing systems. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience and develop technical skills toward becoming a licensed plumber.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble piping using appropriate tools.
  • Keep work areas, trucks, and tools clean and organized.
  • Learn and follow safety standards and plumbing codes.
  • Track materials and support accurate job documentation.
  • Show initiative and commitment to learning the plumbing trade.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Interest in or enrollment in a plumbing apprenticeship program.
  • Basic understanding of tools, construction, or mechanical systems.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and positive attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

  • Hourly wage with periodic increases based on skill level.
  • Training and certification support provided.
  • Pathway to full-time licensed plumber role.
