Position : Transportation Engineer
Location : Chicago, Illinois
Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team in downtown Chicago. As a key member of our firm specializing in infrastructure projects, you will play a pivotal role in roadway and highway design, contributing to the development and enhancement of transportation networks across the region.
Responsibilities :
- Lead roadway and highway design projects from concept through to completion.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyze transportation systems to optimize efficiency and safety.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and approvals.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve design issues.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Illinois (required).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on roadway and highway design.
- Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and / or Civil 3D.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
- Experience with transportation planning and traffic engineering.
- Familiarity with local and federal transportation regulations and standards.
