Reports to : Restaurant General Manager

Summary

The Front of House Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front of house (FOH) team to ensure exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

This role involves interacting with FOH staff, managing guest interactions, and maintaining service standards. The FOH Lead ensures smooth operation during shifts, handles guest inquiries and complaints, and supports the Restaurant Manager in various operational tasks.

Essential Functions

Team Competency :

Support FOH team members during shifts.

Assist in hiring, training, and developing FOH staff.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Ensure proper execution of FOH training programs.

Guest Experience Competency :

Greet and assist guests promptly and courteously.

Oversee guest seating and ensure timely service.

Resolve guest complaints and issues efficiently and professionally.

Enhance the guest experience by ensuring a high standard of service.

Quality Operations Competency :

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the FOH area.

Ensure FOH staff adhere to health and safety standards.

Monitor inventory levels of FOH supplies and place orders as needed.

Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.

Sales and Profits Competency :

Support sales-building activities and promotional initiatives.

Monitor and manage FOH labor costs.

Assist in the implementation of marketing and sales strategies.

Analyze guest feedback to improve service and drive sales.

Knowledge & Skills Competency :

Possess general knowledge of food and beverage service.

Demonstrate effective people management, communication, and listening skills.

Exhibit time management and organizational skills.

Be self-motivated with a passion for providing excellent service.

Conduct problem-solving and strategic thinking.

Qualifications

Required :

High School diploma or equivalent.

Meet minimum state age requirement for serving alcohol.

Flexible schedule availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.

Ability to calculate and count cash & change.

Ability to carry trays with multiple food and beverage products including dirty dishes & glassware.

Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.

Preferred :

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a lead role in the hospitality industry.

Previous experience in a front of house position.

Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and guest service principles.

Physical Demands

Routine standing for up to 8 hours.

Lifting and / or moving up to approximately 30 pounds frequently.

Bending, stooping, and kneeling required frequently.

Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Ability to obtain Food Handlers Card.

RBS Training qualification

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position involves prolonged standing, bending, lifting products, and repetitive hand and wrist motion. It requires working with and around hot, cold, and hazardous equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays and short notice travel. Training may occur on or off-site, by phone, and / or online.
