Position Summary

Whitehall District Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and competent educator who aspires to be an instructional leader and will join a team of dedicated individuals who believe all students can succeed.

We are looking for a secondary ELA instructor to join our secondary ELA team who is passionate about the design and delivery of literacy instruction.

Essential Duties

  • Build relationships and collaborative with peers, parents, and students
  • A design thinker that possesses an inspiring personal vision to push students to succeed
  • Ability to use data to inform instructional decisions on a day to day basis
  • Have a strong vision and high expectations for student success
  • Highly organized and effective at meeting deadlines
  • Innovative in use of technology to promote student learning
  • Ability to facilitate and provide effective feedback for independent learners
  • Strength in motivation and student engagement
  • Positive and optimistic about the future of education
  • Capacity to meet all students where they are and move them forward
  • Develop effective lesson plans with a effective instructional strategies to design and deliver content
  • Possess strong classroom management strategies and respond appropriately to student behavior
  • Communicate effectively with parents about student progress

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Education
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate; Certified in Secondary or K-8 English Language Arts (BA)
