Position Overview

Ames Construction is hiring qualified Field Equipment Oiler based out of our Reno, NV location. This position is responsible for the lubrication, fueling and preventative maintenance functions on all models of Caterpillar and construction related heavy equipment.

Essential Functions

Must have competency on CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Gehl, and other construction equipment

Proficient in performing preventive maintenance (PM) on various equipment, including 250, 500, 1000, and 2000-hour service intervals

Fuel and grease equipment in between shifts and maintaining fuel logs

Must be able to work swing shifts and have flexibility for both day and night shifts

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.

Must have competency in operation, maintenance, diagnostic and repair of light plants, generators, compressors, pumps and small compaction equipment

Must have proficiency in Microsoft computer programs (Excel, Windows operating systems)

Must understand and adhere to the personal responsibility of safety, and work safely at all times

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment

Ability to work as a team, communicate effectively, and take ownership of assigned tasks

Maintain Field Service truck and company provided tooling and equipment.

Must comply with all DOT regulations, including maintaining and completing daily log books, inspections, etc.

Demonstrate excellent work ethic with self-motivation and ability to work safe with minimal supervision on work site,

Willing to complete all job tasks as required by supervisor

Qualifications

Experience working on Caterpillar and construction related equipment.

Have and maintain a Class B CDL with tank and HAZMAT endorsements and DOT medical card

Must be willing to have a flexible work shift, work extended hours or possible weekends and work out of town as workload requires

Willing to promote a teamwork atmosphere working closely with all departments throughout the company

Can work in a high-pressure environment and maintain a professional and positive attitude

Excellent mechanical skills with prior experience

Understand the urgency of our industry in getting Ames Construction equipment back up and running

Excellent organization and communication skills

Working Conditions

Travel - This position is based out of the Ames Construction project office in Reno, NV.

Construction Site Environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Lifting and carrying material and objects. Exposed to high noise levels.

Schedule : 10hour shifts, swing shifts (day or night).
